Data Deletion
Last updated July 25, 2026
You can ask us to delete your data at any time. This page explains what we hold, how to make a request, and how long it takes. It applies whether you are a Settr customer, someone who connected a Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp account to Settr, or a person who was messaged by a business using Settr.
1. What we hold
Depending on how you have used the Service, we may hold:
- Account data: your name, email address, business details, and workspace settings.
- Connected-channel credentials: the access tokens that let Settr send and receive messages on the accounts you connected. These are encrypted at rest.
- Conversation data: the content and metadata of messages sent and received through the Service, including contact names, handles, phone numbers, and email addresses.
- Booking data: appointment details created when the Service books a meeting.
- Usage and log data: records of how the Service was used, kept for security and billing.
2. Disconnecting a Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp account
To stop Settr accessing a connected Meta account, you can either remove the connection inside Settr, at Dashboard → Connections → Disconnect, or remove Settr from your Meta account directly, in Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites, or Instagram Settings → Apps and Websites.
Either action revokes our access immediately and deletes the stored access tokens for that account. When you remove Settr from the Meta side, Meta notifies us automatically and we delete the associated credentials without you needing to do anything further. Disconnecting does not by itself delete conversation history, so use the request process below if you want that removed too.
3. Requesting deletion
Email sohum@settr.appwith the subject line “Data deletion request”. Tell us:
- The email address on your Settr account, or the Facebook Page, Instagram username, or WhatsApp number that was connected.
- Whether you want everything deleted, or only a specific connected channel and its conversations.
We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, so that someone cannot delete another person's data. Customers can also delete their entire workspace from within the app, which removes all of the data listed in section 1.
4. If a business messaged you through Settr
If you are a lead or contact rather than a Settr customer, the business that messaged you is the controller of your data and we process it on their instructions. You can email us at the address above and we will delete your conversation record and pass the request to that business, or you can contact the business directly. Either route works, and you do not need to know which one to use.
5. How long it takes
We action requests within 30 days and usually much sooner. Encrypted backups roll off on their own schedule, so a copy of deleted data can persist in backups for up to 90 days, after which it is gone. We may retain the minimum records we are legally required to keep, such as billing records for tax purposes, and nothing else.
6. Confirmation
We confirm in writing once a deletion is complete. If your request came through Meta's automated flow, you will have received a confirmation code and a status URL that you can use to check progress at any time.
