Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated June 8, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) sets out what you may and may not do with Settr. It is part of our Terms of Service. Because Settr sends messages from your connected accounts, responsible and lawful use is essential. Violating this Policy may result in suspension or termination of the Service.
1. Lawful, consented messaging
You may only use the Service to contact people you have a lawful basis to contact. You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any required consent or opt-in, honoring opt-out, unsubscribe, and stop requests promptly, and complying with all applicable messaging and marketing laws, including the TCPA, CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR and ePrivacy rules, and equivalent laws in your jurisdiction.
You must also comply with the messaging policies of every platform you connect, including Meta's messaging and commerce policies, your email provider's bulk-sending and anti-spam rules, and your telephony provider's messaging policies and registration requirements.
2. Prohibited content and conduct
You may not use the Service to create, send, store, or facilitate any of the following:
- Unsolicited bulk or spam messaging, or messaging people who have opted out or never consented.
- Illegal goods or services, or any content or activity that violates applicable law.
- Fraud, scams, phishing, deceptive or misleading claims, fake identities, or impersonation of any person or business.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or content that is defamatory, obscene, or harmful.
- Sexually explicit content, content that exploits or endangers minors, or content promoting violence or self-harm.
- Infringement of intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
- Malware, viruses, or any code or activity intended to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
- Regulated offerings (such as certain financial, health, gambling, or controlled-substance products) without the necessary authorizations and disclosures.
3. No platform or system abuse
You may not:
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with the rate limits, security, or messaging rules of Settr or any connected platform.
- Use purchased, scraped, rented, or otherwise improperly obtained contact lists.
- Connect accounts you do not own or are not authorized to manage.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach security or authentication measures.
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted.
- Use the Service to build a competing product, or to reverse engineer it.
4. Honesty and disclosure
You must not use the Service to deceive the people you message about who they are dealing with in a way that is unlawful. Where disclosure is required by law or platform policy that an automated or AI system is in use, you are responsible for making it.
5. Your accountability
You are responsible for all activity conducted through your workspace and connected accounts, including the audiences you target and the messages that are sent, whether sent automatically or after your approval. Configuring the Service to operate autonomously does not reduce your responsibility for its output.
6. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or throttle activity, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe this Policy, our Terms, a connected platform's rules, or applicable law has been or may be violated, or to protect the Service, other users, or third parties. We may also be required to act at the direction of a connected platform.
7. Reporting
A method for reporting suspected abuse or violations of this Policy will be published here.
